Better The World welcomes Kids Up Front Vancouver

Find out how Kids Up Front Vancouver is helping Vancouver's underprivileged youth.

Ever been to a sports event, concert, or play and noticed unused seats?  When John Dalziel saw these empty seats at a hockey game in Calgary he was struck with the idea of providing these seats and experiences to underprivileged kids.  This is when the Kids Up Front’s vision of “one little ticket, one big lift” was born.

Kids Up Front Vancouver partners with agencies who provide the basics of life like food, shelter, and clothing.    But, Kids Up Front believes that pulling these children out of the cycle of poverty also requires a deeper impact—their research has shown that kids who are part of entertaining and recreational experiences have more confidence, do better in school, and are generally happier.

"The chance to get access to a hockey game or even a movie is so far outside of their reality that they can't even imagine it possible. We're really giving them inspiration to think that they too can belong and they too can have access to these events that otherwise they couldn't imagine doing.”  --Cindy Graves, Executive Director

Through their “Kids Count!” and  “Can’t Use Your Ticket?” programs Kids Up Front Vancouver has provided more than 100,000 experiences to families and children in need.

So check out Kids Up Front Vancouver to see how you can help support their cause!
