Charlie Simpson a real hero
"My name is Charlie Simpson. I want to do a sponsored bike ride for Haiti because there was a big earthquake and loads of people have lost their lives,"
This simple, yet heart felt message he left on his JustGiving page has people pouring in money and donating whatever they can for the people of Haiti, through UNICEF’s earthquake appeal. Even British Prime Minister Gordon Brown helped Charlie get his message across.
This story really inspired me but also got me thinking. There is always a time in your life when devastation like the one in Haiti occurs that you ask yourself – Am i doing enough to help?
Charlie did what a lot of us over the years have forgotten about. He tapped into something that was unique in character and captivated audiences of all kinds.
So the question is, what sets you apart. What is your different? Take a leap and climb out of your comfort zone, to make a positive change. Being a Better The World member is a great start! Now reach for the stars - be the member that recruits 28 friends in the month of february and then double that to 62 friends in the month of March - or - be the member that raises the most money in your community for the people of Haiti through a fundraising event at school.
What Charlie did proves that with a little bit of heart and a touch of innocence great things can happen when you believe.
