CARE Canada

CARE Canada

CARE Canada's mission is to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world.

Drawing strength from our global diversity, resources and experience, we promote innovative solutions and are advocates for global responsibility. We facilitate lasting change by; strengthening capacity for self-help and influencing policy decisions at all levels; providing economic opportunity; addressing discrimination in all its forms; delivering relief in emergencies.

Guided by the aspirations of local communities, we pursue our mission with both excellence and compassion because the people whom we serve deserve nothing less.

For more than 60 years, CARE Canada has worked on the front lines to empower communities in need and to improve living conditions throughout the developing world.

From its origins as an international network bringing emergency relief to the people of Europe in WWII, to becoming a member of one of the world’s largest private humanitarian organization, CARE has demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian assistance through the millions of people it has helped worldwide.

Working with the beneficiaries with whom we serve, CARE provides long-term development and economic empowerment to communalities facing challenges like HIV and AIDS, poverty, gender, inequality, environmental degradation, natural disasters and conflict.

We also place special focus on working alongside poor women, equipped with the proper resources. Women ultimately, have the power to help whole families and entire communities escape poverty.

CARE responds to emergencies by distributing urgently needed food, water, shelter and life-saving supplies. Once the crisis is over, CARE works with communities to re-establish stability.
